Cluster rules and regulations are designed to preserve the community's integrity and property values, protect residents, and make the Arbor Glen a desirable place to live. Here are some critical rules we must all follows:
- Any modification to the exterior of a home (structure and landscaping) will most likely require the approval from of the AGC Board and the Reston Association Design Review Board. Please notify a Board member of plans to verify approvals required for project and notification of the impacts to community, such as space for dumpster, temporary blockage of road, access across common property, etc. The Board is happy to assist homeowners interested in making such an application.
- The speed limit in Arbor Glen is 10 miles per hour and our street is one-way around the loop. Please make sure your guests, visitors, contractors, etc. are aware of the speed limit. We want to ensure the safety of all our residents and their guest, especially small children and pets that may not be easily seen. Please make sure your guests, contractors, and delivery services are made aware of the one-way directional signs in the development.
- Street parking is limited. There is No parking or standing along the yellow curbs. This is to allow emergency vehicles access through the development. Any vehicle parked along yellow curbs is subject to towing by the Board at the owner's expense. Please refer to the sign located at entrance for the contact information of Henry's Towing.
- Dogs must be on a leash. No dog shall run unrestricted, as defined in Fairfax County Code of Ordinances, Section 41.1-2-4 (leash law). Dog owners/walkers are also required by law to clean up after their dog. The owner or custodian of any dog shall be responsible for the removal of excreta deposited by such dog on any property of the Cluster, Reston Association, or another homeowner. It is unlawful for the owner of any animal or animals to keep such animal or animals in such a manner as to cause unsanitary conditions. Refer to Section 41.1-2-6 of Fairfax County Code of Ordinances.
- No homeowner may extend their landscaping onto common areas without the prior approval of the Board of Directors. Any planting on common property does not convey when the homeowner's property is sold and must not block access to homeowners, contractors servicing common property, or others needing access behind the townhouses. Also, any plants, etc. may be required to be removed at any time from common property at the homeowners expense.
- The planting of invasive exotics is prohibited by Reston Association. A list of the invasive plants prohibited are linked on the Buttons below. These invasive plants are not to be planted by homeowners on Cluster common property or on their private property. Homeowners are required to removed these invasive plants from their property, especially where it impacts neighboring property and/or common property of the Association.
- NO Dumping of any type (litter, soil, rocks, food, old soil from flower pots, cleaning water, etc.) on AG common areas (including our road), property of Reston Association, or into the storm drains. This includes garden/yard debris, pet litter, and dirt/soil as well as obvious contaminants such as paint, oil, the water from cleaning work tool, or any household cleaning products. The dumping of any waste directly in the storm drains is prohibited by State and County law and can result in heavy fines, in addition to cost of required clean-up. Please consider the environment when you are disposing of waste materials. Make sure any contractors you hire are aware (homeowners are responsible financially for damages to common property).
- The common areas of Arbor Glen or Reston Association may NOT be used for the storage of personal property. This includes outside your fenced property.
- No signs may be posted on the grounds of the Association without prior approval of the Board of Directors.
